Field Trip
Last week all parents should have received information plus a permission slip for our Kindergarten field trip to the zoo in May. Please make sure that all of these documents are signed and returned asap so we can gather the correct number of children planning to attend. Thanks.

Adding to and Taking Away
Our focus in Math has been adding and subtracting. What happens when we add? subtract? Do we get more or less? What happens when we add zero to any number? subtract zero from any number? What happens when we add 1 or subtract one from a number? We have been exploring these concepts and checking our answers with number lines. We have also been playing lots of board games with partners along with smart board and ipad games.

Author Visit
Yesterday we were visited by our own Medfield resident author David Biedrzycki. It was an entertaining presentation! He showed us how he comes up with his ideas and creates his stories. His illustrations are now done on the computer using various drawing programs.
Who is this? Max of course wearing the skull of a river dolphin!
Mr. Biedrzycki using his computer to create a bug.
How about a family of bugs!

Math Update
In Math and for many weeks to come we will be exploring addition and subtraction. Recently we have been working on making combinations of numbers that add up to ten. We have also been listening to and reading story problems and learning how to talk math and explain solutions to problems. Below are some photos of children creating combinations using unifix cubes.

Thanks to the Moms who kindly came in and helped with Science Day. The children learned about weather through experiments and understanding the water cycle. Here are a few pics.
